
Quality Control Technician (Evening Shift)

Key Responsibilities
- Perform organoleptic (sensory) and physico-chemical evaluations of finished products during production.
- Work with the Production team, the HACCP/SQF Coordinator, and the R&D & Quality Director to identify and implement corrective actions for non-conforming finished products.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and SQF standards.
- Conduct daily plant inspections.
- Perform monitoring activities assigned under the HACCP/SQF program.
- Train employees on basic hygiene practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Work with the HACCP/SQF Coordinator to identify training needs and provide employee training on work methods, procedures, and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Ensure compliance with and promote the ongoing application of basic hygiene rules and Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the plant.
- Apply and monitor quality procedures and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Collect samples for microbiological analysis.
- Calibrate designated equipment according to established procedures.
- Monitor compliance with manufacturing processes and take appropriate action when non-conformities are identified.
- Ensure compliance with product quality specifications and traceability requirements.
- Report quality and food safety non-conformities.
- Verify compliance with allergen control procedures and product rotation practices throughout the plant and warehouse.
- Review and file quality control records related to the HACCP/SQF programs.
- Identify potential cross-contamination risks.
- Record product and room temperatures.
- Perform all other duties related to the Quality Control Technician position.
Qualifications
- College diploma in Dietetics, Food Processing Technology, Food Science, or an equivalent field.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and SQF requirements.
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in quality control, preferably in the food industry.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to respond quickly and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Well-developed senses of taste, sight, and smell.
- Fluent in French with functional English skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
